Hey check out my post: https://karupp-did.net/patio_painted/

In this post I show you exactly how we painted our patio and what paint to use. The paint is not a stain though....It is a specific paint for concrete that will seep into the top slightly. It was amazing paint and if I were to use it again I would go with that Sherwin Williams line. Stains for concrete are very different because they contain acid. I haven't worked with concrete stain so I can't give you a comparison. You will have to see what you like more in the end and what effort you are willing to put into it. We picked paint because it was SOOOO easy and I would say easier than painting a bedroom. Good luck. I hope my post helps you!

  • Where I live it gets super hot in summer and paint peels. Staining concrete is the preferred method. Stain just fades over time, but does not peel. Can easily be refreshed when needed. Something to consider when making a decision.

My vote is Smiths Color Stain. It is concentrate that you mix with distilled water and apply with garden sprayer and then sealer coat. It is inexpensive, looks professional, and long lasting as long as you reapply sealer when needed.

    You will not be disappointed

Definetly use a solid masonry stain. Paint will flake off stain won't. We use Sherwin Williams but I'm sure there are other quality brands.
