How do I redo a large table and chairs without sanding?

How do I redo a large table and chairs without sanding and how would painting stand up to wear and tear.cheers,Maggie

    I cleaned well. Then painted and sealed with polyurethane. Be sure to use non yellowing. I did not, so years later it has a yellowish cast. Not bad though because I painted it blue.

      No. You can use a small roller where you can. I wiped with a microfiber cloth that was damp after I cleaned. Then, let it dry good. I used a good BRUSH. Ask your paint store or Lowe's etc. About different types of paint also. So much is new out there.

    Hi Maggie. I have painted my dining room table (we use it daily) and it has held up really well. It was painted with Milk Paint and has two coats of Hemp Oil on top and that's it. If you use a good quality paint (Annie Sloan, Fusion, Milk Paint) you will only have to do minimal prep and they hold up well. I would give everything a good cleaning and a light sanding before any of the paints and then you are good to go. Here is a post I wrote about painting mine...
