Do you mean the iron grates?

I put my grates from my cook stove into the dishwasher, then use the hottest water and longest wash possible. They come out squeaky clean.

  • Hi Rosa,

Have you tried using a Magic Eraser yet?! Here is a post where I talk about the ones I like. I usually buy them from the dollar store and they are AMAZING! They are super abrasive so you have to use caution when using them, but I would try. I use it on my glass stove top and have used it on my previous gas stovetop as well.

If you are looking to break down grease you can also try lemon and baking soda. I slice a lemon in half and sprinkle baking soda on the area. Then I use the lemon half to rub it into the grease spot. It works great at breaking down caked on grease.

I set my burner on high and burn off as much dirt as possible. Turn burner off and then I put some paper towels soaking wet

and with a wooden spoon on top try to wash off more of the dirt.

when the burner is cooler, I put some Weiman glass top cleaner.....let it dry. An hour later I come back.....wet dome paper towels and remove the hardened Weiman cleaner off.

no scratches on the glass and you should never never use

magic erasers or scouting pads on the glass surface.

Just had a mess boilover last night......and now it's as hood as new!!?
