How do I get discoloring areas off of my hardwood floors?
The areas are much lighter than the original floor.

It depends on what caused it, Barb. Often, floors fade around the edges of rugs from sunlight.
If it is water marks, try rubbing mayonnaise into the spots.
I read the other day to put vasolene on white rings on furniture and leave overnight. It might work for floors if not a faded area.
If they are true hardwood floors you’ll have to sand, stain, and topcoat them.
If they are laminate you can replace the faded pieces.
