I have meal grubs in my raised veggie garden. Will they destroy my veggies? What is a safe way to dispose without harming earthworms or veggies? Thank you!

    Hi Mjdojcm,

Here is a link that does a good job of explaining what they are and what you can do in defense of your garden.

Mjdojcm, I would pick all of the mealworms or grubs out, mash them with corn meal or leftover fish, then use the mash as fertilizer throughout the garden. Wild boars eat grubs exclusively if they are available, and will do anything to get to the grubs in your yard and garden. Very best wishes for safety and a great garden.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m born and raised a city girl and might not have the stomach to mash all the worms🤢..we pulled out a good 80+ the picture is only half from 2 - 3x6 raised garden beds.

To Nona, under the next question. You are so caring to think of hummingbird baths! They need the cleansing, refreshing bath as much as other birds—and no colored sugar water, either! Best wishes!
