Get a large spray bottle. Mix white vinegar, epsom salt, a few drops of dish soap and water, fill the sprayer and spray! Be careful where you spray. It will KILL everything it touches. Repeat after large rains or if you see stubborn weeds reappearing.

Vinegar should work. You could also cover the weeds with newspaper weighted with rocks. Or, put newspaper down and cover it with mulch.

If you don't want to use store bought chemicals, you can pour boiling water at the roots to kill them immediately or spray industrial strength white vinegar on them to kill them in a few days. The smell goes away once the vinegar dries.

The absolute easiest way is to use shredded paper around the plants We save our scraps from mail, news ads, everything and shred it to use around our cabbages, tomato plants etc and it absolutely lets in NO weeds. We dump the shredded paper in a bucket of water and place it fairly thick around each plant. The paper hardens like it is glued and protects from weeds all summer. It can be tilled into the soil in the fall.
