Hi ! Look into trying diatomaceous earth! This is an all natural product that is safe to use around kids and pets. It has tons of uses both for inside and outside your home , including getting rid of pests .

    Good luck !

Yes, you’ll need to use Food Grade DE, as the swimming pool type is toxic. Feed stores are great places to buy it.

DE kills by rupturing their exoskeletons when they walk through it and it grinds through them.

DE is microscopically abrasive and do not breathe the dust and wear gloves as it will dry out your skin.

We had nearly an acre we bought on the edge of the field. The field was full of fire ants and so was our yard. We tried everything: poison, bait, everything and nothing worked. Then an old timer told us about an inexpensive, safe for pets and children and the environment solution and best of all it WORKS. We never had fire ants in our yard again. If a new hill was found in the spring we reapplied the solution and that was the end of it: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/outdoor/pest-repeller/ants-safe-and-effective-cure-36651130

Powdered boric acid (Roach Proof is a trade name) found in the first aid department, also non toxic to us.

They walk through it, go back to their nest and ingest it when they’re grooming. It destroys their nervous systems.
