Hi ! What are your cabinets made of ? Mine were cheap oak cabinets , and I was looking for a way to paint them with out having to sand them first . I also wanted to cover the ugly scalloped corners on the cabinet fronts . I found 2 methods ,
1. Use chalk paint ( not blackboard ) paint and then seal with sealing wax , works like stain , paint it on , then wipe off.
2. Advance paint from Benjamin Moore. This is what I used , no sanding or primer. You need to clean your cabinets well with a de greaser & a de glosser , both by Krud Kutter ($6 each at home depot )
Tip*** number each of cabinet door and put the hinges and hardware in a zip lock bag with the coordinating number. It will save you tons of time !!! Good luck !

The first step is taking the hinges, hardware, and doors off. Then, you'll to clean the doors, cabinet frames, and drawer fronts with a degreaser like TSP. Next, you'll lightly sand the wood to give the paint something to grip to. Wipe everything down again. Then, you'll prime the wood. After that dries, you can paint. It'll take 2-3 coats. The paint needs time to cure before putting the cabinet doors back up. Using foam rollers really helps to get a smooth finish. Good luck with your project! It's time consuming but it's so worth it :)
