Hi there Bill, here's a great article that has a few ways to make your soild more acidic - https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/garden-how-to/soil-fertilizers/raise-acid-level-soil.htm
The easiest way is to add sphagum peat. For another quick fix, water plants several times with a solution of 2 tablespoons vinegar to a gallon of water. This is a great way to adjust pH in container plants.
Both ammonium sulfate and sulfur-coated urea are good choices for making soil acidic, especially with azaleas. However, ammonium sulfate is strong and can easily burn plants if not used carefully.
To help the Ph balance to more acidic in soil you can add leaves, or more quickly add ammonium sulfate. To add the compounds be sure to read instructions as you can "burn" the plants if it is not added in correct amounts and mixed well. Another trick is 2 TBS vinegar in a gallon of water. Sphagum peat also helps to put around the plants. We always gathered our neighbors leaves for them in the fall, it helped us and they loved for us to do it. They were glad we asked.
add some nails to the soil .. that is what my grandparents used to do
