How to do daffodils?
Have many many daffodils, is it beneficial to try to deadhead them? Have some early and some later bloomers. thanks, Sylvia

Hi Sylvia, yes daffodils do really well if you de-head them. Deadheading the flowers when they start to fade, allows the daffodils to build up a energy for their next round of flowering. You can cut the daffodil flower heads when the color starts to fade.
Yes, I cut off the dead heads when they happen, it does not harm the plant. It helps because the plant is no longer trying to support the bloom.
What is really important is to leave the foliage on, that is what feeds the bulb for next year's blooms.
Hi Sylvia. I leave mine until the leaves start yellowing. Then I cut them back. It keeps the gardens looking clean.
