A padded bench seat with a lid that lifts up for additional storage and floor to ceiling bookshelves. If you want to hide a mess put doors on the bookshelf and make it as deep and wide as you need.

I agree with a bench or ottoman that doubles as storage as well as baskets and bins. I also recommend adding labels to help staying organized and returning stuff to there designated places.

Apart from a storage ottoman or box. Add shelves. I used the space above the doors and windows as extra storage for toys, books that aren't played with often or for those display toys that you want to keep.
