NNz will essentially dismantle the old scents at the molecular level which will destroy the odor for good. Its completely biogradeable, works in a few hours and can be used safely in any part of the home.

Just read over this link and it promises a lot by enzyme action! Things that I never imagined having to deal with. Good luck you.

From time to time we have had roaches in different places we have lived, they can come in with you on a shoe, sock, pant leg...

Their infestation must have been horrendous to leave such a bad odor. At least you have a way of doing something about it. Please write back and let us know how well this remedy worked for you.

Have your air ducts completely cleaned out, scrub EVERYTHING, and try to air it out as much as possible

  • Open every window and door. Wash everything from ceiling, walls, floors. If there is carpeting, have professionally steam cleaned. Use portable fans. If you have birds, don't bring them in until the house is clean and odor free.

dishes of vanilla extract (or of vinegar), or a cotton ball soaked in either, set in a jar lid or other small container - both/either absorb bad smells of all kinds!

A few drops of wintergreen oil on a cotton ball in several locations will eliminate the odor. A pest control employee passed on this hint many years ago! Worked for me

Vacuum the entire unit. Use a heavy duty vac that has disposable bags. When you dispose of the carpet and pad, make sure to do so in a way that prevents harboring pests from infesting another area.

Remove electrical fixtures/appliances and clean/dispose of carefully, as pests may be harboring there.

Give the entire unit a good initial cleaning. Wipe down all hard surfaces surfaces with a disinfectant product. Our favorite is OdoBan (we buy the concentrate by the gallon at Home Depot). Be sure to wipe down inside and outside cabinets and closets. OdoBan can also be used on some fabric and as an air freshener.

For the walls and ceiling, wash them down with a mixture of vinegar and water. Follow this by cleaning with TSP (or TSP substitute). Follow this with painting the walls and ceiling and sub-floor (where the carpeting was) with a stain/odor blocker such as Kilz or Zinsser. Put an attractive top coat of paint of the walls and ceiling. This is our method for addressing homes damaged by smoking and/or pets. If dirt and odor and stains are not present, you may be able to skip the TSP and/or the Kilz steps.
