No that will peel. Don't put anything other than a fresh coat on. All products loose their sheen as they age. Normal, just a part of home maintenance. Poly would do the same only peel and ruin your deck.

No poly. Kelli is right. Age, weather and the poly will fail. Just clean the deck, make any repairs, and put fresh stain. General deck maintenance about every four years.

My large outdoor rug distracts from mine. I just enjoy it and don't worry about the wear. There are outdoor runners, too.

Hello-I would suggest looking at the directions on your current preferred paint Cabot container or call their help line (for consultation due to disappointment in case there is a satisfaction guarantee)

Its always helpful to do the job the right way the following your service agents directions- ask for their directions and consultation why the dissatisfaction/failure happened —-they very knowledgeable kind and supportive!

In our case with a wooden deck sealer failure, the agent spent some time on the telephone-detailed environmental conditions necessary, cleaning and application procedures and specifically how to apply the deck paint product. The company rep provided for free replacement product and cleaner directly to our house because they had a satisfaction guarantee.

Now the solid wood sealer product seems to be wearing well without the unattractive weathering seen in reapplication failures 2016, and 2017. Our problem was solved I hope you get yours solved too!

    Hope this helps!
