Have you seen this plant. It dies back each year but when it recovers the bloom lasts for weeks. Very tropical looking.
Hope it blooms this year.

Sherry, you have a Chinese yellow banana, Musella lasiocarpa, sometimes also known as a golden lotus. At maturity, the flower stalk may reach 6 feet in height. For its tropical look it is surprisingly hardy, supposedly to Zone 7.

Douglas, the store called it a Golden Lotus Banana Plant - Guess that is their marketing name. The bloom is much larger when it is completely open.
