Paper Wreath

Looking for some more "eco-friendly" decor ideas? Make a paper wreath out of recycled brown paper bags and a straw wreath base. Add some faux flowers and you have yourself a chic rustic wreath. Save your brown paper bags from the grocery store and use flowers from the dollar store to make this chic and affordable farmhouse accessory!

Use a straw wreath base, straight pins and brown paper bags to start the wreath.

You'll want to cover the base first (this way, if there're gaps at the end, you won't see them).

Start by tearing the paper into one inch sections and crumple them up. Smooth them out and then attach them to the wreath base using pins and glue if necessary. Go around the entire wreath form until you see no more straw poking through.

Once your base is in place, it's time to create the texture.

Twist more brown paper into little snakes and pin it to the wreath to make a rope-like surface. Be sure to pin them close together to limit gapping.

Remove the heads of fake flowers from the base. Pin and glue them onto the wreath.

Hang the wreath up!

I’m a “reuse, repurpose, recycle” woman of many years practice and this is brilliant! It’s churning my creativity to new heights as I see colors with spray paint or ink pads. Thank you for a brilliant idea that treats Mother Earth with care!
