Angel, I think latex chalk paint is really good for that. I have an outdated rocker-recliner with an almost open-weave fabric, but I used chalk paint to cover the most worn-looking areas. I am adding stencils using chalk paint to really make it pop. I plan on two coats on every part, but it may take me a while to finish. First coat on some parts: dried in 12 hours, a little brushing and the fabric was soft and natural, with no paint on the brush. I would call that a very good start. Best wishes!
I would use paint made for fabric. Any brand marked fabric paint should be ok.
A chair made of wood? I painted a few of mine and just used acrylic paint. Once dried I spray with Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover Gloss Clear which "Seals, Protects & Revitalizes".
Easy peasy and they look great!
I mix regular acrylic paint with textile/fabric paint medium. You can get it at Michael’s and hobby lobby, and of course online- and it works awesome as long as you follow the instructions on the bottle
I agree with Kailey, you need to use a fabric medium with your paint. It helps to allow the fabric to move without cracking the paint.
