How do finish this oak threshold to blend with the floor?
After completing the remodel of my master bath, the doorway needed to be replaced. They used an Oak threshold and I'd like to make it blend with the floor. Any suggestions?

You can paint it or replace it with a marble one that is closer to the color you need. If paint use oil based primer, sand then paint 2 coats.
Thanks Kelli. Do you think dabbing various shades of white, gray and black will produce a blend close to the floor? I like the marble idea.
Peg,
You might want to consider replacing it with a complimentary marble or quartz threshold. You can get them at the big box stores and online. A local tile flooring company may also have some choices in stock or by special order.
I had the same problem and stained ours a med grey and it sort of blends in now.
hi ! i would stain or paint it a color close to the floor a grayish. you might want to by the same threshold in any size to do your experimenting on.
You can paint one color as close to the flooring. You can dab on different shades of grays and black to blend in with the flooring. You will need a base coat first. A light gray base coat then darker grays and black.
Thank you William. What type of finish would you recommend?. I don't want the finish to wear off since there are three thresholds and a good bit of traffic.
Using a small piece of sponge and a feather will help you in matching colors and appearance. I'd take the time to practice on a similar piece of oak. Seal with 3 coats of Marine polyurethane, if thresholds will see any sun, or if you'll have heavy traffic.
