I circumvent the problem by making most of the ground English ivy which becomes so dense it takes only a few minutes per month to search out and dig up any weeds early in their life cycle. A minimum-sized lawn only surrounding walkways can be mowed by a hand pushed muscle powered lawn mower in less than half an hour es east to weed the old fashioned way by digging out the few weeds of a small area by the roots.
Hi Kay, Bad news is you can never get rid of weeds altogether as the seeds are already in the ground from years back, but in the short term you could pull or dig them out of kill them off with a weed killer........
I like to trim the weeds down with a trimmer and spray each one with weed killer. Weeds drive me crazy and it is sooooo time consuming to pull each one up. This is my quick way.
