How do I make a shade curtain for deck?

I have never seen this type of project with shower curtains before, but I have seen several with drop cloths. They are heavier and I think would hold up better outdoors (in my opinion). Here is a link to one of the projects I found.

I used canvas curtains wth metal gromets. Bought a dowel that would slide through gromets. You can also use pvc pipe. I put large hooks into the wood and put the dowel end in each hook. You could probably use stiff wire or cable. Brylane home has them on sale for a great price. Many colors.

You could use a Skirted Fitted Sheet attached to or just slipped over 4 Poles.

I ordered shade cloths (it has seams and grommets) and hubby installed it over pvc 2x6s.

That provides a lot of shade (amazon.com lets you know how much shade the different items provide. If you pull the shade cloth taunt over the pvc and attach with screws in the grommets you can walk under neath it and use a leaf blower to blow off leaves.
