How do I clean my walls where dogs rub there faces?

I have three dogs. So my walls end up with dog slime where they lean against the wall an one runs his face all the time. All painted surfaces. Scrubbing them takes forever. Any good cleaners or faster tricks.

Hi ! First , it would be easier to clean it you have a washable paint finish , like a gloss , semi gloss or even eggshell . As for actually cleaning it , I would use a magic eraser !

They even make a magic eraser mop ! That would be super easy , and less bending.

    Good luck !

Use can use moth balls in that area to break them of this habit. If no food is grown close by.

I would you use Cleaning Erasers ~ that is what they are made for. To Stop them used painters tape & put tin foil on the wall until they stop this habit. THEY hate tin foil!!!

Have you tried the magic eraser?

  • Now you know why I use semi gloss paint on some of my walls! Much easier to wipe down when needed. I have 3 dogs, plus the neighbors 3 dogs, 6 cats, a canary (that likes to spit at her subjects), and a dragon, plus visiting animals. I am always washing walls . . . Repaint those areas to make your life easier.

  • Behr makes cleaning wipes for painted walls that work well. I have a dog who rubs on woodwork too. They works wonderfully on her messes!

When cleaning, add some peppermint or citrus to your cleaning solution or rinse water. The smell should deter this behavior in your dogs.

  • I feel your dog slobber pain! Definitely try a paint finish other than flat. I use TSP substitute mixed with water in a spray bottle and a rag. Definitely do not use moth balls or oils in or around areas where the dogs are as both are toxic to them.

Hi Melanie, hope this helps you out.

Mix one part white vinegar with one part hot water. Use a spray bottle to apply the solution to the grease. Allow it to set for several minutes and then wipe with a clean rag. Work in small areas and repeat as many times as necessary to get the wall clean.

Mothballs are carcinogenic, would not recommend using them.

I had a similar proble with cat snot on the walls. Just soak a paper towel in water and apply it to the wall (if wet it will stick) and let it sit there for about an hour. By then it should be softened and easier to remove.
