Hi ! If you have nothing to lose , because of the stain , this is what I would try ...

it might sound weird but , I found a GREAT carpet cleaner that works on everything , ink , wine , dried paint ... I tried it on a stain on a cushion and it worked so well , that now I keep some in a spray bottle in my laundry room ! It is called Folex , I found it at home depot for about $6 , I just saw it at her bath & beyond for $10 . It wouldn't be a total loss , if it doesn't work , at least you will have a good carpet cleaner ...This is a spot cleaner that you can use in a carpet cleaning machine , as well ! Good luck !

Have you set the stain by drying in a dryer? If not, try Krud Kutter original concentrate. If you have set it, bleach may work. You could also write the words splash and have an empty glass by stain. People will think it came like that.

If it is greasy, treat with Dawn dish detergent and then soak with hot water and Oxi.

Use Blue Dawn detergent it works for me for most every stain...I use it full strength on the wet stain area...then rub it with more water till its gone...can let soak...but make sure youve diluted the detergent if soaking...

It's a tough stain to tackle yet it has worked for me...

I keep a bottle with my laundry products...

Mens collars and grime disappea on most stains (check colorfast clothes)
