What can I plant in a stone driveway?

Rock garden.

You could turn it into a rock garden and use potted plants for color and greenery. It will take time, but you could take small strips starting on an outside edge and remove the stones yourself and eventually you will have that section of land back to plant as a garden. Remove the stones in that section, fill with topsoil and have something like a strip of wood or plastic against where you finish to keep the stone on the other side and not travel into the area you cleaned. I am sure you can find a purpose for the rocks, or perhaps a friend or neighbor that could use it.

where do you live?climate? just remove the gravel with rake or shovel,dig into soil under it plant what you'd like too then water it well do not push gravel up around base of plants it affect heat transfer from gravel & burn plants(don't know where you live sun heat) & can cause fungal or root rot problems.if I knew where you lived I would suggest plants-shrubs,Perennials,Annuals,trees,bulbs to plant

Have you thought about planting some of those creeping low growing plants which will eventually spread? The gravel will eventually contain some soil material from leaves, etc composting on it and the plants will spread. Dig out a few spots and add some good soil to get the plants started and then let it go.
