Canna Lilies are bulb oriented. That means they need calcium for building up their production and making flowers. You can buy bone meal at your local nursery to feed them. They like sunshine too, so be sure they get a good amount of it where they are located. Hoe this helps SAndy.

full sun&do not plant too deep in soil, they need dug up everywinter in climates where it freezes or they do not survive, do not overwater they will rot-but need lots of water-so good drainage required, do not cut off tops until completely dead they need to absorb leaf growth to replenish tubers, they also require monthly compost or organic fertilizer, fertilizer that is relatively higher in phosphate for continual bloom.

They really like the sun in order to bloom. Keep watered because they can dry out quickly in the sun.

They need moist soil and plenty of sun. You can add sand to the soil where the plant is located. Sand will retain moisture. I also recommend dissolving a tablespoon of Epson Salt in a gallon of water. Slowly pour it on the soil at the base of the plant. That will put nutrients back in the soil. Repeat every 2 weeks. You can use this Epson Salt mixture on all of your flowers and vegetables. Plants thrive with it. Wishing you well Sandy.
