How do I cover an ugly wall?

My walls are plaster how do I cover them without gutting out my room
Do one wall at a time. Slide things out of the way enough to paint one wall. Put down newspaper or drop cloth. You don't have to gut the whole room. If you need to paint the ceiling as well do the same thing with a small area. Cover bedding or furniture with Dollar Store shower curtains.
Do you want to cover them meaning like with drywall?
Not sure what to do the walls have cracks
Fill the cracks with joint compound or spackling. Sand smooth with a fine grit sandpaper, sanding block or use a damp rag to smooth out surface of the compound then paint.
Look on Dresslily.com , put wall in the search box. They have some cool pieces that are large and really pretty. They will create a nice focal wall. All you need is thumbtacks and/or double sided tape. I'm waiting on mine, bought the one with three antique doors ,can't wait. Let me know what you think.
