Resins are any of the chemically modified natural resins or synthetic polymers which are physically similar, including thermoplastic materials such as polyvinyl, polystyrene, and polyethylene, as well as thermosetting materials such as polyesters, epoxies, and silicones. They are used as stabilizers, pigments and other components to form plastics. And there are many different kinds of resins depending on what are you trying to make, coat, seal??? you cannot make it. some epoxy resins you need to mix the ingredients. depending on what you are making will determine the type you want and where you would buy it.Art stores, hardware stores, online. Jewelry resins, floorcoating resins, resin to seal paintings are all different some thick some thin some need mixed.what are you trying to use it for??
  • There's casting resin which is used to make 3D objects like cabinet knobs and there's pour on resin which is used for a glossy top coat.

I love envirotex lite! You can get it at Micheals or Home Depot. I have also seen another brand at Ace Hardware that is similar. Hobby lobby has an art resin that works well too.
