Make a long curtain rod from electrical conduit?

I've never done it but it looks like it would be difficult to get the angles right and install a piece that long. Three pieces would be easier and you would only be making 2 bends.

I've worked with that type of pipe before and it is really easy to bend!

Conduit can be tricky to bend, but thankfully it's cheap. You can buy a stick for $3 and a practice stick or two as well. I would guess that your radius is possible with a typical foot-bender for EMT conduit. In the past I have cut and notched for non-electrical applications, just bend at the notch. If you do cut it, sand the edges smooth with a quality 100 grit metal sandpaper

Use PVC pipe, it bends easier, is still strong and fits standard curtain rod holders. Paint it with Rustolem paint that looks like metal in the shade you want. Anyone that looks at it will never know the difference.

If you go to harbor freight, you can buy a very inexpensive conduit bender. You will need to calculate your angle or use a protractor. The bender has the angles marked. Also, you will need to bracket the pipe at each bend. These are just basic hardware brackets available at any hardware store. The pipe is sold in 12' lengths at a plumbing supply house. I recommend finding finials or using a fitting for the ends. Black pipe and conduit are covered in an oil at time of purchase. I recommend using a cleaner to remove that film before putting inside your house

You can do what I did with similar situation in a home I previously owned. Instead of using conduit pipe I used heavy-duty flexible plumbing tubing. I measured my length and had the tubing cut to that length, plus a little more for error protection.

I used large cup hooks at each junction and finished each outboard end with a decorative finial/ball, whatever.

It was easy, inexpensive and invisible because I used clear tubing.

You have two choices. GandmasHouseDIY or Lynn Sorell. Electrical conduit ...your bends would not be that sharp so less kinking or splitting. But they would need to be perfect with a little wiggle room for adjustment. PVC pipe with elbows would be easier. Strength would be there due to the short lengths. Compare cost between the two and what you want to tackle. I've worked with both in different applications including electrical and plumbing.
