How to smooth out stucco on walls?
My sister lived in the apartment before me and wanted the southern Floridian look of textured walls. I HATE them but do not know how to get them smooth again? HELP!

You will have to skim coat the walls, Missy. Here's a link:

Ann is right, short of some kind of paneling, use skim coat to even out the textured layer.
You can skim coat the walls with drywall compound or sand them down. Both a lot of work and messy.
Easier to reskim the walls than to try and smooth it back off.
Thank you Anita! How would I do this?
