How do I paint my cast iron bath tub?

My bath tub hasn’t been painted before. We bought the house and we’re going to remove it. It is original, too heavy. So now, it is ugly and I want to refinish it. Can I use a countertop marbled kit? I would love to make it look like a piece of hollowed stone! Marble with resin? Would it yellow? Could you tell if it did?

If you don't plan on putting water in the tub you can paint it with anything that pleases you. Since you likely will not be keeping it solely as a decoration, you will want to use a kit made specifically for cast iron tubs.

If you have a claw foot cast iron tub (you didn't mention) and are only considering painting the outside, YES! you can use a marbling paint kit on the outside.
I'm not sure if you can use one of those kits, Jo Anne. I would check with a company that refinishes tubs for their advice first.
I would recommend RustOleum tub and tile kit.
There tub paint kits available at your local home improvement store or there are painters who specialize in tub refinishing.
There are some good videos on YouTube... If you do marble painting, I would use Marine epoxy paint thats good for wet environment.
