Michele....I use a grill scraper and oven cleaner
Krud Kutter original concentrate. Use full strength. Put on. Let sit (directions ). Rinse off. May have to do twice.
Hello Michele! If you are talking about grill racks from a BBQ grill we have a big plastic bin that we soak ours in. We fill the bin with the grates, warm water and Dawn dish soap. We let them soak for at least 6 hours, then use a wire grill brush to clean them off and then rinse. We try to do this at least 3 times during the summer. Some people have used a large garbage bag to soak the racks in as well.
Hi Michele, The easiest way to clean the grill grates/racks is by rubbing them with a steel-bristled brush immediately after cooking your meal. The grease is still hot at that point and should slip right off.

Spray with degreaser let soak in a tub with dish soap then use a scrub brush hot water
Put on your work gloves to protect your hands, ball up a bit of the foil and start scrubbing away any easy to remove bits. The foil will act just like a steel wool scrub and cling to anything it touches. Wipe away any access debris.
Hubby burns it off by heating up the grill. Then after they cool we let them soak over night in a bathtub with a good amount of Dawn. Just rinse the next day.
