I am not sure what you are asking Paula. If you can't view your back yard--can you get to your back yard to put patio blocks down?

Plan out the area you wish to cover and then dig out to about a depth of four inches. You can use the edgers on one side to get started. Lay down about 3 inches of sand, tamp and then lay your blocks. Place the edger on the outside when you know where it will be. When you have finished laying them you can brush in a mix of dry sand and dry cement so that it hardens and the ants or weeds do not mess up the seams. You can also buy a mix that has glue in it to use in place of the cement mix.

Also, make sure to level the ground.
