I turned mine into a huge planter. I used spider plants but any plant will do. Just make sure all the workings are out of the grill, put stones in for drainage and then add dirt and plants. I left my top on and made sure it would stay open.

I used it as a plantar in my yard. I first lined it with a large aluminum roasting pan, then added soil and plants or artificial flowers or greens for the holidays.
What about turning it into a fire pit?
Don't laugh, but, when got a new one we, we put our old one at the curb and it was gone before I made it back around the house.
