add vinegar to rinse cycle;use wooldryer balls with 100% pure essential oil on them for scented laundry;place 3 wads/balls of aluminum foil in dryer to stop static cling(if they stop working replace or dip in water)

Hi Maryann: Give this a go: Fabric Softener Ingredients

    • 6 cups vinegar
    • 1 cup baking soda
    • a few drops of essential oil

Pour the vinegar into a large bowl. Add your essential oil, if using. I chose to use lavender since that seemed like a nice smelling fabric scent to me. Add your baking soda. When fizz has settled, pour into storage container of choice. Use up to 1 cup (depending on load size) per load. I poured mine right into the regular fabric softener location. Good luck

All you need to do is to add about 1/4 cup vinegar to your machine's rinse cycle. It kills the soap and makes clothing, etc soft. Anything else eventually builds up in your fabric and appliances.

Start with 6 cups hot water. Add 3 cups white vinegar. Add 1/2 - 1 cup hair conditioner like Suave Naturals (waterfall mist) or use a more neutral scented conditioner with an essential oil added for a scent of your own choice.

Mix well. Store in a lidded jar.
