How do I reinforce my sofa so the cushions don’t sink?
ive tried the plastic “as seen on tv” sofa reinforcements and they are flimsy. Any ideas on How I can reinforce my sofa under the cushions without using 2x4’s which work but are so hard?

We had a soft that was in an area where it was easy for my kids to run down the hallway and leap onto the sofa. Needless to say, the springs got broke pretty fast. We were able to get a large amount of polyfil pretty cheap and crammed it in there. It sill had some give so it wasn't like sitting on a rock, but was nice and firm to keep the cushions from sinking in.
i used a thin piece of plywood. It works pretty well.
plywood on top of the old springs, you can get foam at upholstery and some fabric stores. get the thickness you need, wrap it in a sheet as if you are wrapping a present.
You can try 1/4 plywood or pull back the bottom fabric and repair the webbing or springs.
Cut a piece of plywood or OSB to lay across the springs that is a few inches shorter than the width of the cushions and the same for the length of the total cushioned area. That should allow the cushions to become more firm and support your weight without much sagging.
All thes answers is how i would support the seating!🙏
Spur a piece of plywood under all yr cushions. Amazing!
Try MDF in each cushion.
