What can you do if your cat urinates over the vent?

We have a cat that urinated over the vent, and you can imagine the smell thru my home. What can I do?

Maybe try Spraying OdoBan my husband has worked in maintenance for years and people let their animals urinate and defecate everywhere. OdoBan has been the only thing they’ve found that really works and it not only eliminates odor but it disinfects, and sanitizes. It even can kill the HIV virus.

Take the vent cover off and clean it really well, you can do the same inside vent where you can reach. The OdoBan works really well, but as with anything it may take more than one spraying to get the whole area where it landed since a person doesn't really know how far it has spread. Vinegar will also work by putting it in a spray bottle full strength. As with any thing, give it the sniff test once it has dried to make sure you got all the odor. It is also an excellent disinfectant and will kill anything that the urine may be causing to grow. I have used both with success. Good luck, you can get rid of the odor and know what to do the next time the cat does this. OdoBan and vinegar both work well on carpet and fabric also, just test the fabric to make sure what you use won't change the color or texture.

Remove the vent and thoroughly clean with an urine eliminating cleaner.

One of my 2 cats (both neutered males) had taken to painting all of my walls, furniture, and anything else he could reach. I was horrified when I got a UV light. He never did that in all of the 9 years I've had him and didn't when I got him a buddy (they love each other and did so right away) but when a strange black cat started showing up outside both of my cats went nuts and the older one (9) started his wall painting, as well as the curtains out in the kitty room. I couldn't keep up with it.

My cats are indoor cats so it's not like the stray is actually going to get in here but they both hate him (and he is weird...my neighbor's cats hate him too). I've tried cleaning with a pet urine enzyme and then spraying some "No More Spraying" but that hasn't worked. He's a sneaky little bugger too; he waits until he thinks I'm not looking and then does it. He's learned that the minute I see him backing his butt up to something he gets yelled at.

It wasn't until I found "Cat Spraying No More" that I was able to finally get rid of this tiresome behavior.

Now my house doesn't smell like a litter box anymore :)

Thank you so much. I’ve tried the vinegar, twice so far, but still has smell. I guess I’ll try the OdoBan now.

You used that many bottles of the OdoBan? If you did wow I’m pretty shocked that didn’t work for you. Theirs only one other thing that I would try as far as diy, I’d maybe try pouring baking soda down since it’s an odor neutralizer. If that doesn’t work for you , unfortunately you may need to call a professional and I hope you don’t have to do that because they charge about $160 here but maybe since you just have the one vent they’d give you a discount!

Thank you! I’ll try the baking soda and pray that works.
