How can I re-purpose a thin cloth hanging shoe rack?

I have a single pair Horizontal by 12 pairs Vertical, flexible, fabric, over the closet hanging rod that I want to re-use for something. Anything! My mind is drawing a complete blank.

I use mine for extra towels and wsh cloths. Fold them half lengthwise, then in half again lengthwise and then roll from open ends that are folded together.
I can't picture it, but could you make it into a rustic blanket holder? Paint and distress it
