    Hello Arlene,

Drill into the brick and use a rawlplug - fix with screws. Best wishes.

Drill bits that can drill through concrete are called masonry bits. They are also good for drilling through brick and stone. Drill bits with a tungsten carbide tip are the strongest; when it comes to solid concrete, the sharper the better.

(ΒΌ" carbide drill bit is required for stucco, hardboard, fiber cement, brick, or masonry.) For shutters up to 55", use four screws per shutter. For shutters 55" and over, use six screws per shutter. Purchase the screws made for shutters. They are extra long. Ask at Home Depot which ones to get.

You will need to use a masonry bit and drill into the mortar joint. Then insert anchors. You will crack or crumble the brick if you try to drill into it.
