Hi Elizabeth. I use this 2-step process on mine. Begin with a bucket of Dawn dish soap and warm water. Has to be Dawn. Mix well and wash your cabinets giving special attention on the grease build up. Allow them to dry. Then I use Murphy's Oil Soap. The soap will remove any debris remaining and the oil will condition the wood. This process works well for me. Good luck Elizabeth.
Fuller Products makes a kitchen degreaser that is safe for wood. I would highly recommend that if traditional baking soda & cleaning vinegar paste doesn't remove them.
Try using a mix of warm water, dish liquid and baking soda to remove the grease spots. Towel dry after cleaning. You could use a product made specially for cabinets called Cabinet Magic which adds some life to the wood and gives it a nice clean look.
I do what Cindy suggests. Joy has a good suggestion also. Cabinet Magic and Murphy's Oil Soap are similar products.
Home Depot, Lowes, Meanrd's, Ace Hardware.
If you cannot find Cabinet Magic in the store, try on-line. It is spray which I put on a cloth after cleaning and wipe down the wood on the cabinets. It is a good product.
what if your wood cabinets are painted? I wouldn't want to use anything that would cut through the paint. Help, because at least until I can afford to replace the cheaply made cabinets, I need a solution to the grease situation. (I am pretty sure the "cabinets" were made from plywood, FYI). Thank you in advance.
TSP will remove the grease (rinse well) and then use Murphy's Oil soap to clean off any remaining residue.
product from Dollar Tree called Awesome is the best
