UPDATE: During the COVID-19 pandemic, these would go well with masks to donate to local hospitals.

My youngest daughter is a veterinary technician. She does allot of surgeries and requires a scrub cap. She found fun material and wanted me to make her some new ones. Here is the process of how they came about.

We could not find any free patterns online only ones in Etsy stores premade so we created our own pattern after examining one she had already.

We drew a pattern, cut it out and sewed the first one out of horse patterned flannel, it was perfect. On to the fun material she had picked out.

Here are the inside and outside. We made them reversible for even more options.

I top stitched the edges together then sewed a casing. Two long pieces were folded and sewn into a tie and into the casing it went. I made it two toned as well ;)

She tried it one but felt it was too short in the front.

I had double folded the front edge so ripped it all out , pressed it back to single fold and resewed the edge and it was good to go.

By the end of the day we had 3 new surgery scrub caps for her, just what she wanted.
