Renovate means “big job” to most people.

Being a Certified Kitchen Designer, you’ll need to keep in mind The Work Triangle when you’re designing the job.

Youll need to hire a plumber and an electrician if you’re going to move these things. They’ll make sure you address things like GFCI outlets, circuit loads and plumbing vents.

When buying cabinets, look carefully at the construction, as particle board construction will not last as long as plywood construction.

Flooring: everything in life, falls to the floor eventually and kitchens are messy.

Wood composite and laminate floors are usually not rated for kitchen use, for a reason - they get wet too much in the cleaning processes. Research the flooring options with that in mind.

Ventilation: the cook top must have a vapor vent. Ideally you want to vent it outside, so that the grease laden valors don’t cling to your cabinets and walls over time.

Renovate, remodel, refurbish, redecorate, refresh or update? While all these can diy terms, their meanings vary considerably according to the size of the project, degree of difficulty and skill needed, and cost factor.

Please post a picture of your kitchen. If we can see what you have to work with, we can then offer some suggestions on how it can realistically be improved upon.

Sharing what some of your goals are for how you would like the kitchen to look would also be helpful.
