You could put wax old past wax on it the scratches will get filled in and you could buff it shinny rent a machine from Home Depot

Cover it permanently with new flooring or just improve the way it looks? Different answers, depending on what you are wanting to do.

If the flooring is in decent shape in terms of not missing bits or coming up from the floor, you should be able to lay other flooring of some sort over it. If in a kitchen or bath, I would use a vinyl plank or stick down vinyl (add extra adhesive if peel and stick). If in a non-wet room, water-resistant backed carpet tiles are very easy to install and relatively affordable. Of course, you could just throw a big rug over it and not mess with it at all.

Thank you Twyla!!! It’s always helpful to get someone else’s opinion. I have been leaning toward laying new bamboo planks over it. Blessings ~ Nancy

Thank you Kathy. Was leaning toward bamboo planks laid over, but we have had a lot of experience with paste wax and a buffer since our previous home had 3,000 sq. ft. of all old fashioned beautiful unfinished hardwood. It was beautiful every time we waxed and buffed and it lasted quite a while. Your idea will get us through until we can lay the bamboo. Blessings ~ Nancy
