Do I need to clean pots with something when re-potting?

I have lots of pots and changing plants and new flowers to different ones, just wanted to know if I needed to clean them with bleach or just soap and water?

    Rinse only

I would clean the pots with bleach water, rinse them out well, then rinse them again with vinegar and let them sit. The bleach water will clean them, the vinegar will kill any spores in case there was some mold or mildew in the soil from the past plants. That way you know you will not be passing on any problems that may have been developing in the soil or the old plants.

  • Soap and water is good enough. As a general rule, I do not use bleach around any food products or anything you might grow food in. Toxic and not good for the environment either. If you want to disinfect, use white vinegar.

I just wash with soapy water and rinse. No need to do anything else if they've been sitting around.
