How do I refinish or cleanup old oak cupboards in the kitchen?

The person who built our house did it on his own taking several years. When we purchased the house it still had plywood on the floors. The kitchen cabinets are made of oak. They could use an updated or special cleaning but I don't want to paint them. I like the wood finish. We live in an A-Frame house.

Hello Wendy! is there a finish on the oak cabinets. Stain and poly? Murphy's Oil Soap is a good cleaner.

Hi Wendy, if there is a lot of grease or dirt on the cabinets I like to use Krud Kutter. You can also used a water and eco friendly tsp. The both work well for cleaning. If the cupboards have no finish on them, you can also revive the wood with Hemp Oil It will bring out the beauty of the wood and protect it. (Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint make a great Hemp Oil) Good luck.

I like OrangeGlo unless there is a serious build up. Then get a safe degreaser like GP66 or Fuller.
