First, get one of those cheap plastic jagged tools and run it down the sink drain as much as possible to pull out any gunk like toothpaste and hair. The put 1/2 cup baking soda & 1/2 cup white vinegar down the drain and cover. Boil water and pour down the drain after 15 minutes. Repeat as needed.

put a bowl or trashcan under the u-joint of sink. using a pipe wrench, undo both ends of the u-joint & dump crud in it out. clean u-joint inside w an old toothbrush. Use an unbent wire coat hanger or plumbers snake to go up to sink, wiggling & circling hanger inside pipe, dump crud, then do other side toward wall - down inside pipe (or plumbers snake) as far as hanger can reach, wiggling & circling it Pull out gobs of gross clogs. Then, get a little wire drain for sink that CATCHES HAIR. Empty daily - a Q-tip used to run inside the little strainer in a circle in the hairy bits will work to clean the little strainer. And in future, every week pour bleach and/or boiling water down the drain - careful not to hit cold porcelain with hot water - might crack - warm the sink with hottest water faucet makes first! Or use a drain cleaner weekly. We also have a rule in our house: daughter & mom do NOT comb or brush hair over sink. Daddy is not allowed to wash whiskers from shaves or hair trims down sink: he is to wipe out hairs with a damp tissue & thro' into trash can, not rinse into drain! Sometimes he even does it!
Hello, Even though we have an auger, most commonly we find that our bathroom drains need to be physically fished out. Either using an unbent hanger as a refashioned hook or plastic barbed tool from the dollar store or more expensive plastic tool from big box hardware —->to explore the drain obstruction.
Fishing out the blockage with that in -our experience— to partially involve hair removal seems to most readily alleviate stoppage in our bathroom sinks and shower drains.
