I like to use a cleaning product called CLR. The "trick" to using this cleaner is to spray it on and walk away. Come back in a half-hour and wipe clean. Rhett, depending on how old your tub is, it may need to be re-glazed. I'm only saying this because sometimes older tubs require it after years and years of use. Good luck to you.

The 'rings' might be exposing the original color of the tub-not dirt! My plastic-type tub was originally gold and someone had painted it white..using a diy product sold for such use. However after 9 yrs of me scrubbing my tub-scrubbing extra hard on the ring area-I finally realized that the old gold was peeking thru. I need to redo or replace the tub

It's possible that due to age the rings are etched into the surface. Try using Easy Off No Fume Oven Ckeaner in the BLUA can. Works on enamel, porcelain, and fiberglass. If this doesn't work the rings are permanent.

This happened to me, also. I used 1/2 c. blue Dawn Dishwashing Detergent plus 1/2 c. white cleaning vinegar in a spray bottle. This will be thick. Mix gently and spray on the stain. Leave it a couple of hours or overnite. Rub the stain with a damp sponge. May need to re-apply, but i got wonderful results.
