A Rusty Metal Bird Feeder Using Scrap Materials

I wanted to make a bird feeder using things I already had and not spend any money. Well my house usually never has leftover wood. But we usually have leftover scrap steel and I did have a metal bed frame that no one wanted.
We cut up the twin/full size metal bed frame into 12" pieces and made a 12" tall x 12" wide metal box. Using 2 steel rods and leftover bed frame as roof trusses welded to the center of what we deemed the Top... to secure the pallet wood too for a wood roof.
Once this was done I sprayed the metal the entire thing white. I also found some scrap metal flat pieces and had those welded on to add a rusty touch.
I am still debating on what to do for eaves. I am contemplating using stones under the eaves by epoxying them to a small piece of plywood. But time will tell....
The garden stake for the feeder is actually a 3/4" piece of rebar buried 2 feet into the ground that is welded to a 2" wide by 5' high piece of square tube steel. I covered the ugly metal tube steel with an old gutter down spout.
It only took a few hours before we had guests!
