No doubt it had not been used or cleaned recently but with those adorable draw details... I just couldn't pass up it up.
A Cute Stepback Hutch

I've finished my furniture hoarding for LSM and I'm feeling less chaotic now that I can just work on projects and not worry about having to find them. One of my favorite finds so far has to be this adorable little step back hutch that I found at a local auction house.
I was so happy to hear that I had the winning bid and got to bring her home! I gave her a wash and scrub then let her dry in the sun before bringing her inside to work on.
So I mixed my paint and applied the first coat on just the interior panels of the base and top shelving unit. I decided that I would leave off the doors for now, one of them is missing a trim piece and both are missing their glass inserts.
I gave the painted areas a light distressing as a finishing touch and then called this project done after wiping it down with a damp cloth!
I wanted to keep as much of the original patina on the exterior as possible. I like the imperfection of having one drawer darker than the other so I let that extra character alone.
