Framing a Tea Towel for Kitchen Art

My kitchen needed additional wall art. I have a sense of the eclectic and enjoy scouting new pieces that add some character to a room. In addition, I am a fan of personalization and uniqueness. I wanted something others didn't have.
Select a Towel you Love
I found this cute tea towel at Anthropologie, but of course, you could duplicate this look with a towel you already own or a purchase from a vintage, antique or discount store. Home Goods and World Market have great selections. I chose this particular towel because I love to bake and I had the perfect spot to showcase it.
Baking Corner!
My Baking Corner! This photo highlights the framed towel near my mixer, baking utensils and vintage scale. It has since been hung 'above" the mixer instead of leaning against the white subway tiled wall.

In my case, I took the towel to my local Michaels Craft Store, along with a 35% off coupons and selected a simple black frame and no matte. I am certain that many of you who are very handy could frame a towel on your own. My goal today is simply to inspire you to create wall art out of something unique. The options to do so are endless. More details are on the blog, Chocolate and Sunshine, in addition to many other home design projects.

I usually stretch a tea towel over a cheap canvas from the dollar store but I like the framed look too - well done!
