I just got these white things on my butterfly weed plant last night, and I'm not sure what they are. They look like white eggs, but I'm not sure if they are, if they are good bugs or bad bugs. Does anyone know what they are and if I should leave them or get rid of them, and if so, how do I get rid of them naturally without hurting my butterfly weed plant?
If you can look closely you will see what I'm talking about. I'm not sure what I should do.
Another view of these (I guess) eggs. It was hard trying to get a good picture of them.
@Rhonda B - No - Monarchs lay them singley, which gives each larva enough leaf to chew through. They may be the eggs of Hemiptera - basically different types of stink bugs. I believe they're also known as squish bugs, shield bugs...
you should see some caterpillars eating your milkweed down to stalks soon (don't worry, it will grow back quickly)... look around your yard, you may find green chrysallides hanging about (the stage between caterpillar and butterfly)... it takes about 3-4 weeks from egg to caterpillar to chrsyallis to butterfly... and you may not see them in your yard, but just see them fluttering around your neighborhood once they become butterflies.. but those butterflies will come back to your milkweed to lay more eggs... congratulations!!!
Whatever they are, I have seen them on my patio glass doors plus on the outside walls of our log home. I assumed they were spider eggs but then who knows. I would also like to know for sure.

The thing is, I haven't seen any Monarch Butterfly's though.
Another possibility is the Milkweed Tussock Moth-you might have to keep a close eye on them to see what emerges:-))
@Rhonda B Thanks, I will.
