Stuffed Fabric Pumpkins

Admittedly holiday decorating isn't my strong suit. I can barely decorate all the other days of the year much less holiday specific, but I loved the idea of a pile of plain ol' pumpkins in lots of fun materials. And my holiday 'mantle' was born! You guys, this project is SO easy. Just pick some fabric (I even grabbed a tweed jacket to cut up from the local thrift store sale aisle) sew your seams and stuff! Read on for more detailed instructions.
Cut out a series of pointy ovals (I know there's a name for this shape, sometimes the brain just doesn't fire) and choose your embroidery thread.
Start at one corner and just sew the ovals together. The more ovals, the fatter your pumpkin.
Voila.
Stuff your pumpkin as much as you want. I used polyfill.
Sew around the middle circle and pull tight to close.
Here are all the other fabrics I chose for my pumpkin-palooza.
For the leaves, I used some iron on backing to make my green fabric a little stiffer.
This cut out was printed from the internet.
A few quick stitches later and the pumpkin is good to go.
A quick overview of the various fabrics I used!
I love the fabric texture against some classic Halloween decor.
But these certainly don't have to be exclusive to Halloween! They're good for any fall decor.
