With the glorious summer months shortly arriving, families all across the nation will be excitedly planning for lazy days spent around the pool, countless backyard barbecue cookouts and all the fun and general gaiety that comes with longer hours and vastly improved weather conditions. Summer is naturally also a popular time of the year for gardening enthusiasts and landscape-lovers to take the time to remodel or redecorate areas around their property which may have sadly fallen victim to the chilly winter elements.
If you feel that there are embarrassingly yellowing or thinning grass patches around your gazebo, barbecue cooking area or pool due to the inclement conditions of the past few months and you want to put things right, here are a few different uses for artificial turf in a backyard landscape setting.
Pet Runs - Synthetic lawn products are ideal for pet lovers who own a beloved kitty or doggie but cannot let them roam free in the backyard under normal circumstances due to dangerous critters such as scorpions, snakes, javelinas or other bothersome pests. With a faux turf installation, the top layer offers the look and feel of genuine grass, while the infill layer located underneath is designed to provide a speedy drainage process that takes care of pet urine. And since there is no mud base, this means that your cats or dogs won't be able to traipse any mess into the house either!
Putting Greens - Artificial grass can be installed in areas of many different shapes and sizes, and a backyard golf putting green is ideal for anyone who wants to advance their putting proficiency, especially if they want to avoid their fellow golfing buddies from seeing how well they are improving! Developing your golf skills in secret can give you an obvious edge when it comes to meeting up with your chums and being able to startle them with how much you've developed, so just imagine their shocked (and scared!) faces after a few months with a personal putting golf green in your backyard! Being able to take the time to become more adept while in the comfort of your own backyard is a great feeling, and a home putting green installation is decision you won't soon regret.
Flowerbed Edgings - For homeowners who adore the opportunity to utilize their backyard as a stage to show off their gardening prowess, summer is a heady and exhilarating flower-filled time. You may have an assortment of stunning flowerbeds displaying differently colored plants, or maybe you have numerous vegetable gardens packed with succulent foodstuffs fit for any mealtime. Non-natural turf can be used as an immaculate border edging material in either instance. And since manmade grass blades are available in a diverse range of shades, textures and lengths, it's possible for you to feature different eye-catching lawn colors all around your property.
Synthetic turf offers many benefits over real grass; you'll save money since synthetics do not require the use of expensive insecticides, pesticides, fertilizers or weed killer products. Furthermore, you save on your utility bills because you won't have to water the grass anymore! Finally, you won't have to reseed the area or need to spend time every month mowing the lawn. Just think: no more hours of exhausting, monotonous and backbreaking work!

I love the idea of this grass but where does the dog urine go? We scoop the solid, but I can't imagine a yard soaked with the urine! Do you have to hose it down? Sprinkle a cleaner on it? I can't imagine a rug filled with urine lying around!

@Jeanette S, just like real grass, urine drains straight through artificial grass. We, at Global Syn-Turf, also recommend using an infill called ZeoFill, which absorbs pet odors. Regarding solids, they must be manually removed from the turf and then the turf should be hosed down. If you don't have a hose, Simple Green, a degreaser, may also be used.
